Introduction to MetaTrader 4’s Menu Bar Functions<\/h2>\n

All operations on MetaTrader 4 are covered by the menu bar.
\nKnowing the available functions allows for smoother and more advanced trading.<\/p>\n

(1) About the File Menu<\/h3>\n

The File menu includes options for chart operations, chart group management, history data, and chart saving. The items available in the File menu are as follows:

\u25a0File menu<\/strong><\/p>\n

1) New Chart<\/strong>
\nDisplays a list of available currency pairs.
\nSelecting a currency pair from the list opens a new chart.<\/p>\n

2) Open Offline<\/strong>
\nAllows you to select the required file from the saved historical data.
\nIn this case, new prices for the currency pair will not be reflected in the chart.<\/p>\n

3) Open Deleted<\/strong>
\nRestores a deleted template chart
\nfrom the \/DELETED directory.<\/p>\n

4) Profiles<\/strong>
\nAllows saving or deleting chart groups in this submenu.
\nPreviously saved groups can also be downloaded.<\/p>\n

5) Close<\/strong>
\nCloses the current chart.<\/p>\n

6) Save As<\/strong>
\nSaves historical data as a text file in “CSV,” “PRN,” or “HTM” formats.<\/p>\n

7) Save As Picture<\/strong>
\nSaves the chart in “BMP” or “GIF” formats.
\nThe same operation can also be performed from the “Save As Picture” command in the chart context menu.<\/p>\n

8) Open an Account<\/strong>
\nThis feature is not available.
\nIf you wish to open a new demo account, please apply via the website.

9) Login<\/strong>
\nLogin authentication for a demo or live account.
\nOnce the authentication connection is established, price and newsfeeds begin, and trading becomes possible.<\/p>\n

\nConfigures general print parameters (printer device, page, size, and print orientation, etc.).<\/p>\n

11) Print Preview<\/strong>
\nUses the selected printer settings.
\nThis command allows you to check in advance whether all the data you want to print can be printed with those settings.<\/p>\n

12) Print<\/strong>
\nPrints the chart.<\/p>\n

13) Exit<\/strong>
\nExits the terminal.<\/p>\n

(2) About the View Menu<\/h3>\n

Commands for signal screens, toolbar settings, interface language, and more are consolidated in the View menu.
\nThe items available in the View menu are as follows:

1) Languages<\/strong>
\nSelect the language you want to use, and restart MT4
\nto switch the terminal interface language.<\/p>\n

2)Toolbars<\/strong>
\nCalls up the submenu to configure the toolbar.
\nThe active toolbar is marked with a checkmark, and you can enable or disable it.<\/p>\n

3) Status Bar<\/strong>
\nEnables or disables the status bar displayed at the bottom line of the terminal window.
\nWhen clicking on the displayed chart, the date and price of the selected currency pair are shown.<\/p>\n

4) Charts Bar<\/strong>
\nEnables or disables the tabs showing the chart names displayed at the bottom of the chart screen.
\nEnabling this allows for quick switching of chart displays.<\/p>\n

5) Symbols<\/strong>
\nAllows you to show or hide currency pairs in the Market Watch.<\/p>\n

6) Market Watch<\/strong>
\nOpens or closes the Market Watch window.
\nThe current prices of currency pairs are displayed here.<\/p>\n

7) Data Window<\/strong>
\nOpens or closes the Data Window.
\nThis screen displays the prices of the selected currency pair and information about the technical analysis placed.<\/p>\n

8) Navigator<\/strong>
\nOpens or closes the Navigator window.
\nThis screen displays a tree structure of account lists, chart analysis tools,
\nExpert Advisors, Custom Indicators, and Scripts.<\/p>\n

9) Terminal<\/strong>
\nOpens or closes the “Terminal” window.
\nThis screen allows you to view trading and account history, alarm settings, mailbox, experts, and activity history.<\/p>\n

10) Strategy Tester<\/strong>
\nOpens or closes the Strategy Tester window.
\nThis screen allows you to test and optimize Expert Advisors.<\/p>\n

11) Chats<\/strong>
\nAllows inquiries to MQL5.
\nBy creating an account from “Register,” you can engage in real-time communication.<\/p>\n

12) Full Screen<\/strong>
\nEnables or disables the full-screen mode.
\nWhen this option is enabled, the toolbar and status bar are disabled, and all signal screens are closed.<\/p>\n

(3) About the Insert Menu<\/h3>\n

Objects placed on the chart are grouped under the “Insert” menu.
\nThe items related to object manipulation are as follows:

\nAllows you to insert chart analysis tools (indicators) on the chart.<\/p>\n

3) Channels<\/strong>
\nAllows you to insert various channels.<\/p>\n

4) Gann<\/strong>
\nAllows you to insert Gann lines and more.<\/p>\n

\nAllows you to insert Fibonacci into the chart.<\/p>\n

6) Shapes<\/strong>
\nAllows you to insert rectangles, triangles, and ellipses into the chart.<\/p>\n

7) Arrows<\/strong>
\nAllows you to insert symbols to mark important points on the chart.<\/p>\n

8) Andrews’ Pitchfork<\/strong>
\nAllows you to insert Andrews’ Pitchfork into the chart.<\/p>\n

9) Cycle Lines<\/strong>
\nAllows you to insert cycle lines into the chart.<\/p>\n

10) Text<\/strong>
\nText for adding comments to the chart.<\/p>\n

11) Text Label<\/strong>
\nAdds comments.
\nIt is fixed to the coordinates of the window, not the chart.<\/p>\n

(4) About the Charts Menu<\/h3>\n

Allows settings and operations for charts and technical analysis placed within the chart.
\nThe commands available within the Charts menu are as follows:
\n\"Charts<\/p>\n

1) Indicators List<\/strong>
\nCalls up the screen to edit the technical analysis placed on the active chart.
\nYou can select one technical analysis, change its settings, or delete it from the chart.<\/p>\n

2) Objects List<\/strong>
\nCalls up the submenu to display and edit placed objects.
\nSelected objects can be edited with the “Edit” button in the window or deleted with the “Delete” button.<\/p>\n

3) Bar Chart<\/strong>
\nDisplays the chart as a series of bars.<\/p>\n

4) Candlesticks<\/strong>
\nDisplays the chart as a series of “candlesticks.”<\/p>\n

5) Line Chart<\/strong>
\nDisplays the chart as a line connecting the closing prices of the currency pair.<\/p>\n

6) Bring to Front<\/strong>
\nWhen this function is enabled, all analytical objects are placed behind the chart and not displayed in the foreground.<\/p>\n

7) Timeframes<\/strong>
\nDisplays 1-minute, 5-minute, 15-minute, 30-minute, 1-hour, 4-hour, daily, weekly, and monthly charts.<\/p>\n

8) Templates<\/strong>
\nCalls up a submenu to set and operate template charts, saves a new template, or deletes an existing one.<\/p>\n

9) Refresh<\/strong>
\nUpdates historical data.<\/p>\n

10) Grid<\/strong>
\nDisplays or hides the grid on the chart screen.<\/p>\n

11) Volumes<\/strong>
\nDisplays or hides volumes on the chart screen.<\/p>\n

12) Auto Scroll<\/strong>
\nSpecifies whether the position of new bars is automatically set to the right edge of the chart window after a new bar is generated.<\/p>\n

13) Chart Shift<\/strong>
\nMoves the position of the latest bar on the chart to the position of the chart shift label.<\/p>\n

14) Zoom In<\/strong>
\nZooms in on the chart.<\/p>\n

15) Zoom Out<\/strong>
\nZooms out on the chart.<\/p>\n

16) Step-by-Step<\/strong>
\nMoves the chart one bar to the left.<\/p>\n

17) Properties<\/strong>
\nSets parameters related to the overall chart.<\/p>\n

(5) About the Tools Menu<\/h3>\n

Allows for placing new orders.
\nThe commands available in the Tools menu are as follows:
