Introduction to Indicators<\/h2>\n

So far, we have covered basic chart operations.
\nNow, we will introduce “technical analysis tools” (referred to as indicators) that are standard with MT4 (hereafter referred to as “MT4”) .<\/p>\n

MT4 provides 30 standard indicators and 20 custom indicators.
\nBy customizing these indicators, you can create your own original charts.
\nIn this section, we will explain how to add or remove indicators using the Stochastic Oscillator and Moving Average as examples.<\/p>\n

Adding an Indicator<\/h2>\n

(1) Adding an Indicator<\/h3>\n

First, click the \u201c+\u201d button next to the “Indicators” section in the Navigator window to expand it.<\/p>\n

(2) Oscillators<\/h3>\n

Click the \u201c+\u201d button next to the “Oscillators” section to expand it further.<\/p>\n

(3)Stochastic Oscillator<\/h3>\n

Select “Stochastic Oscillator” from the expanded list and drag it onto the chart.<\/p>\n

(4) Setting Parameters<\/h3>\n

When you drag the indicator onto the chart, a pop-up window will open.
\nYou can press “OK” with the default parameter settings, but you can also adjust the parameters to create a custom setup.<\/p>\n

\u203bFor this example, set \u201c%K Period: 15,\u201d \u201cSlowing: 5,\u201d and \u201c%D Period: 5.\u201d<\/p>\n

(5) Displaying the Stochastic Oscillator<\/h3>\n

The Stochastic Oscillator will be displayed in the lower section of the chart.<\/p>\n

\u203bNote: Some indicators display differently in the main window and the sub-window, but the basic operation and parameter adjustment methods remain the same.<\/p>\n

Removing an Indicator<\/h2>\n

(1) Checking Displayed Indicators<\/h3>\n

Right-click on the chart and select \u201cIndicators List\u201d from the menu.<\/p>\n

\u203bNote: Clicking on submenu items will result in the same action.<\/p>\n

(2) Removing an Indicator<\/h3>\n

A window with the displayed indicators will open. Select the indicator you want to remove and click the \u201cDelete\u201d button to remove it.<\/p>\n

\u203bNote: Clicking \u201cDelete Subwindow\u201d in the submenu will perform the same action.
\n\u203bNote: The basic indicator operation are all the same, so try it yourself.<\/p>\n

Using Templates<\/h2>\n

After creating an original chart, you can easily replicate the same format for other currency pairs by using templates.<\/p>\n

(1) Saving a Template<\/h3>\n

Select \u201cChart\u201d from the menu and click \u201cSave Template\u201d within the template section.<\/p>\n

(2) Naming and Saving<\/h3>\n

A \u201cSave Template As\u201d pop-up will appear. Enter a desired file name and click the \u201cSave\u201d button.<\/p>\n

(3) Applying a Template to Other Charts<\/h3>\n

Open a new chart, go to the \u201cChart\u201d menu, and select the template name you created (saved file) to apply it.<\/p>\n

Apply the template to other charts in the same manner to use your customized chart setup for trading.<\/p>\n
