Introduction to the MetaTrader 5 Menu Bar<\/h2>\n

This section introduces the MetaTrader 5 (MT5) menu bar.
\nUnderstanding the features available on the menu bar allows for smoother and more advanced trading.<\/p>\n

(1) File Menu<\/h3>\n

The File menu offers various options for chart manipulation, managing chart groups, saving charts, and more. The items available in the File menu are as follows:<\/p>\n

1. New Chart<\/strong>
\nDisplays a list of available currency pairs.
\nSelecting a currency pair from the list opens a new chart.<\/p>\n

2. Reopen Chart<\/strong>
\nReopens a chart that was accidentally closed or a previously closed chart.<\/p>\n

3. Profiles<\/strong>
\nChart profiles group charts together, allowing you to switch between chart groups at the desired time.
\nChart groups can be saved or deleted.<\/p>\n

4. Close<\/strong>
\nCloses the current chart or the selected chart.<\/p>\n

5. Save As<\/strong>
\nSaves historical data in text file formats such as “CSV,” “PRN,” or “HTM.”<\/p>\n

6. Save as Picture<\/strong>
\nSaves the chart in “PNG” format.<\/p>\n

7. Open Data Folder<\/strong>
\nUsed for installing Expert Advisors (EAs) or custom indicators (technical analysis tools for charts).<\/p>\n

8. Print<\/strong>
\nPrints the chart.<\/p>\n

9. Print Preview<\/strong>
\nUses the settings of the selected printer.
\nThis command allows you to check whether all data to be printed can be printed with those settings beforehand.<\/p>\n

10. Page Setup<\/strong>
\nConfigures general print parameters (printer device, page size, orientation, etc.).<\/p>\n

\nAuthenticates login to a demo or real account.
\nOnce authenticated, price and news feeds begin, allowing for trading.<\/p>\n

16. Login to MQL5.community<\/strong>

(2) View Menu<\/h3>\n

Allows you to configure settings such as the signal screen, toolbar, and interface language.
\nYou can also display tools not shown by default, such as the “Data Window” and “Strategy Tester.”
\nThe items available in the View menu are as follows:<\/p>\n

1. Languages<\/strong>
\nSelect your preferred language,
\nand restart MT5 to switch the terminal interface language.<\/p>\n

2. Toolbars<\/strong>
\nBrings up a submenu to configure the toolbar.
\nActive toolbars are marked with a checkmark and can be enabled or disabled.<\/p>\n

3. Status Bar<\/strong>
\nEnables or disables the status bar displayed at the bottom of the terminal window.
\nClicking the chart displays the date, time, and price of the selected currency pair.<\/p>\n

4. Chart Bar<\/strong>
\nEnables or disables the tabs of chart names displayed at the bottom of the chart screen.
\nEnabling this allows quick switching between charts.<\/p>\n

5. Symbols<\/strong>
\nAllows you to show or hide currency pairs.<\/p>\n

6. Market Depth<\/strong>
\nDisplays the Market Depth panel.
\nSelecting a currency pair shows the Market Depth panel.<\/p>\n

7. Market Watch<\/strong>
\nOpens or closes the Market Watch window,
\ndisplaying the current prices of currency pairs.<\/p>\n

8. Data Window<\/strong>
\nOpens or closes the Data Window,
\ndisplaying the price and technical analysis information of the selected currency pair.<\/p>\n

9. Navigator<\/strong>
\nOpens or closes the Navigator window.
\nThis screen displays the account list, chart analysis tools,
\nExpert Advisors, Custom Indicators, and Scripts in a tree view.<\/p>\n

10. Toolbox<\/strong>
\nOpens or closes the “Toolbox” window,
\nwhere you can view trade and account history, economic calendar, alert settings, mailbox, experts, and journal.<\/p>\n

11. Strategy Tester<\/strong>
\nOpens or closes the Strategy Tester window,
\nwhere you can test and optimize Expert Advisors.<\/p>\n

12. Chat<\/strong>
\nYou can make inquiries to MQL5.
\nYou can create an account via “Register” for real-time interactions.<\/p>\n

13. Full-Screen Mode<\/strong>
\nEnables or disables full-screen mode.
\nWhen enabled, the toolbar and status bar are disabled, and all signal screens are closed.<\/p>\n

(3) Insert Menu<\/h3>\n

The objects placed on the chart are gathered in the “Insert” menu.
\nThe items related to object manipulation are as follows:<\/p>\n

\nAllows you to insert chart analysis tools (indicators) onto the chart.

\nAfter selecting “Objects,” you can choose the object you want to insert.<\/p>\n

3. Expert Advisors<\/strong>
\nRuns Expert Advisors (EAs).
\nAfter selecting “Experts,” you can choose each EA.<\/p>\n

4. Scripts<\/strong>
\nAllows you to configure scripts for order processing, analysis, and more.
\nAfter selecting “Scripts,” you can choose each script.<\/p>\n

(4) Chart Menu<\/h3>\n

Allows you to configure and manipulate charts and the technical analysis tools placed within them.
\nThe commands available in the Chart menu are as follows:<\/p>\n

1. Market Depth<\/strong>
\nDisplays the Market Depth panel.<\/p>\n

2. Indicators List<\/strong>
\nAllows you to view inserted indicators.
\nYou can select one technical analysis to modify its settings or remove it from the chart.
\nThis option is unavailable if no indicators are inserted.<\/p>\n

3. Objects<\/strong>
\nBrings up a submenu to display and edit placed objects.
\nSelected objects can be edited with the “Object List” button in the window or deleted with the “Delete” button.<\/p>\n

4. Expert Advisors List<\/strong>
\nLists active Expert Advisors (EAs).
\nThis option is unavailable if no experts are inserted.<\/p>\n

5. Bar Chart<\/strong>
\nDisplays the chart as a series of bars.<\/p>\n

6. Candlesticks<\/strong>
\nDisplays the chart as a series of candlesticks.<\/p>\n

7. Line Chart<\/strong>
\nDisplays the chart as a line connecting the closing prices of currency pairs.<\/p>\n

8. Timeframes<\/strong>
\nAllows the display of 21 different timeframes, including 1-6 minute, 10-minute, 12-minute, 15-minute, 20-minute, 30-minute, 1-4 hour, 6-hour, 8-hour, 12-hour, daily, weekly, and monthly.<\/p>\n

9. Template<\/strong>
\nBrings up a submenu to configure and manipulate chart templates,
\nsave new templates, or delete existing ones.<\/p>\n

10. Grid<\/strong>
\nShows or hides the grid on the chart screen.<\/p>\n

11. Auto Scroll<\/strong>
\nSpecifies whether to automatically set the position of a new bar to the right edge of the chart window after a new bar is generated.<\/p>\n

12. Chart Shift<\/strong>
\nMoves the latest bar position on the chart to the chart shift label position.<\/p>\n

13. Volumes<\/strong>
\nToggles the display of “Volumes” on the chart.<\/p>\n

14. Tick Volumes<\/strong>
\nToggles the display of “Tick Volumes” on the chart.<\/p>\n

15. Trade Levels<\/strong>
\nToggles the display of “Trade Levels” on the chart.<\/p>\n

16. Trading History<\/strong>
\nToggles the display of “Trading History” on the chart.<\/p>\n

17. Zoom In<\/strong>
\nZooms into the chart.<\/p>\n

18. Zoom Out<\/strong>

(5) Tools Menu<\/h3>\n

Allows you to place new orders.
\nThe commands available in the Tools menu are as follows:<\/p>\n

\nThis window allows you to configure parameters for servers, trading, charts, Expert Advisors, and more.<\/p>\n

(6) Window Menu<\/h3>\n

Contains commands for managing the chart screen.
\nCommands such as creating a new chart screen or selecting how to align work area charts are as follows:<\/p>\n
